The COP26 diversion route goes from Castlebank Street to Beith Street along the narrow remote footway, which has been signed as shared use.

The soft segregation for the COP26 diversion route does not extend as far as the Castlebank Street junction, even though Beith Street is a very wide road for a one lane each way road. Cyclists are diverted back onto the narrow footway to ge ... [more]

The ramps at the soft segregation provided for the COP26 diversion are tiny, and completely unusable should anyone turn up on anything other than a standard bicycle.

The soft segregation for the COP26 diversion on Beith Street does not even extend to the Benalder Street junction. It, like the similar work on Argyle Street, is done to a poor standard and provides a narrow space for cycling alongside the ... [more]

A diversion sign for the NCN7 COP26 diversion route obscured by a parked van. Not the van driver's fault, of course, since it should have been placed somewhere where it could be better seen.

The SEC covered walkway itself appeared to be open for business, although whether it was possible to get out the other end I don't know, having diverted around the gyratory system due to the sight at #175151.

The route to the SEC covered walkway appeared to be blocked.

Is this sign meant to be in use?

The Ferry Road dropped kerb (see #175002) did not stay clear for long. Again, materials dumped partly obstructing users of this dropped kerb.

The Clydeside Distillery has some cycle parking stands under a shelter.

The former NCN7 route at Pointhouse Road and the footbridge with steps over the Clydeside Expressway still form useful parts of the cycle network to differing degrees.

Temporary signs obstructing the northern end of the Benalder Street cycleway. Still no progress to report on the installation of traffic signals implied by the stopline and pedestrian crossing studs, or how the cycleway ties into the roa ... [more]

The end of the Old Dumbarton Road cycleway in Ferry Road is now usable.

The Benalder Street cycleway has now been connected to the Old Dumbarton Road cycleway, with the installation of the raised crossing. The old lamppost seen in #174295 has been removed.

The Old Dumbarton Road cycleway has now been cleared of obstructions at the Ferry Road junction. The raised crossing has been installed and awaits lining. Some bollards might be in order too.

The present limit of the completed cycleway on Old Dumbarton Road at the rear of the Kelvin Hall. Work is ongoing to install the raised crossing at the Bunhouse Road junction.

Old Dumbarton Road closed for installing the raised crossing at the Bunhouse Road junction.

With NCN7 due to shut on Saturday, the cycle route on the diversion route on Old Dumbarton Road is still under construction at its eastern end. There does not appear to be any attempt to tie in the cycleway to the road network at this busy ... [more]

Unusably bad soft segregation has been put in on Argyle Street for the COP26 diversion route, and is dangerous for various reasons, including lorry parking right up to the pedestrian crossing point blocking sight lines. See also #175137.

Very poor soft segregation on Argyle Street for the COP26 diversion route.

Soft segregation has been put in on Argyle Street for the COP26 diversion route, but is of such poor quality that it is worse than useless. See also #175139.

  • Icon 175104 The cycle path is part of the Corby Cycle network, including the heritage trails. Along this cycle path there is restrictive bollard structure over the bridge which inhibits access for cycles. This is used by many cyclists daily and is an essential safe cycling route between, The Stanions, and the businesses and the main town. The bollards must be removed.
  • Icon 175103 Too much traffic. Continuation of cycleway needed and more cycle parking.
  • Icon 175102 Better demarcation of contraflow cycleway (similar to recent Sweetbriar Road works?) to help keep vehicles out of it and to remind pedestrians that whilst the road is one way, cyclists can come from the other direction.
  • Icon 175101 A number of very low manhole covers along Old Tiverton Road, some of which have raised ironwork frames, pose a risk to cycle users. Raise / repair covers.
  • Icon 175100 Existing shared path is too narrow to allow easy use for cyclists and pedestrians. Dropped kerbs are quite high meaning that downhill users bounce up and down them which is at best uncomfortable and when travelling at any speed it could be dangerous
  • Icon 175097 This is already a cycle path, but Green Lane is overgrown and is not a secure place to cycle as it is secluded. This needs to be opened up and could form a traffic-free link to Alma Park and the new path being installed by the Woodland Trust to link to Londonthorpe Woods car park and beyond. Potential link to NCN15 heading east to Sleaford.
  • Icon 175096 The A52 is very busy and dangerous to cross for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders. There is enough room to install a path alongside the road from Bottesford to the site of the old railway bridge embankment. Then install a ramp and footbridge over the A52 and link to the remaining trackbed and on to the start of the NCN15 cycle route just south of Muston. This would provide a safe route for all to enter the Vale of Belvoir from Bottesford and further afield. The railway infrastructure is already there.
  • Icon 175062 There is no room for safe cycling with children
  • Icon 175052 Join up path through to Rigler Road
  • Icon 175050 Widen the paths to make it safer for getting to school. Narrow the road to Single lane to deter unsafe drop off
  • Icon 175029 Fatal: cyclist and bin lorry https://twitter.com/oxoncyclingnet/status/1448710205919879183?s=21 https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-58910752 “The coroner couldn't think of anything that might prevent this happening again.” https://twitter.com/anotherjon/status/1449798064256999424
  • Icon 175028 These railings on the path are dangerous, not wheelchair, pram friendly. Probably not legal. This route needs to be opened up and improved for pedestrians, wheelchair and buggy users, and cycles.
