Ex hire bikes for sale on Mill Road. These former Yobikes come with Non puncher (sic) tyres!

Cycling people: These barriers and ‘cyclists dismount’ signs have appeared in the last few weeks on a route in Basildon (Ballard’s Walk). The barriers are quite widely spaced, and I can see their purpose. But planning to engage my loc ... [more]

Pothole inspection on Grange Road - how long will it be before the hole gets fixed? And why can't this be done by a small electric vehicle?

No traffic lights, no problem.

Advisory cycle lanes and double yellow lines at the south end of Histon Road

Advisory cycle lanes at the south end of Histon Road - but I do quite like the cycle symbols on the outside of the bus stop.

Histon Road cycleways built to the minimum width, and with no protection from close passing motor traffic. A short section of single-yellow will allow motor vehicles to park in this cycle lane.

An upstand high enough to allow a bike to be parked, at a turn into a side road, see #167163

The junction of Histon Road with Canterbury Street (and other side streets) has been designed with an upstand of 25mm, enough to throw a rider off their bike unless they turn sharply.

Canterbury Street meets Histon Road.

South City Way at junction of Victoria Road and Allison Street.

Cycle parking stands next to the South City Way on Victoria Road. The spacing could be better, and that big sign will get in the way of pedals.

South City Way at Bowman Street. In theory, it appears they expect cycles to be able to access the side road, but no dropped kerb has been provided to get from the cycle track onto the shared footway. And no provision for right turns or goi ... [more]
