[Image taken 25.11.21] Clifton Moor Gate, close to junction with Oakdale Road, York. The two surfaces required to assist blind people to choose the safe side of the route. The left-hand side is for cycles. This is 'skinny' corduroy and I find it unsafe and therefore unsettling to use - my wheels get pinched just as they do with longitudinal tarmac damage: #174510. All the corduroy at the otherwise good 'cycle circuit' around Monks Cross retail park is the 'skinny' kind eg: #175979 and #175866. The 'relaxed' or 'wide' corduroy looks like this: #176157. Do traffic engineers have a choice over which to put in? Are they even aware there are two widths? Other related images today: #176155, #176156, #176157, #176158. Other images today: #176152 and links.
